OverviewAs a musician and music lover I have a love of sharing the knowledge I have accumulated about blues guitar playing and history. Here's a PDF copy of my teaching and performance resume. Private
Students-I
teach private guitar lessons in Seattle. I play accoustic as well as
electric styles in standard and open tunings. For examples of guitar
lessons see a site
put together covering information for prospective students. This site
also features my final project for the University of Washington's Ethnomusicology
department which was an in-depth look at the development of slide guitar
traditions. Group Classes-In 2003 I organized and taught a Blues History class at the University of Washington's Experimental College. This class was a seven week overview on the complex development of this American Musical genre. For details on the course including basic syllabus and outline, as well as a more in depth ouline for download go to the courses page on this site. From the summer of 2003 thru the summer of 2005 a led a Blues Ensemble through the Seattle Drum School. In the summer of 2004 I also taught a group class on The Harmonic Series and Musical Temperaments. I would love to teach some group classes in the near future if their is enough interest in any of these topics. Please e-mail me with any questions. |
